Saskia Hamilton was born in 1967 in Washington, DC, and showed a strong enthusiasm for reading at a young age. She earned a B.A. from Kenyon College, an M.A. from New York University, and a Ph.D. from Boston University. In addition to teaching at Barnard College, she worked at the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Lannan Foundation.
She lectured at Barnard College and served as the Review’s advisory editor. For the 2009 Gryphon Poetry Prize, she served as a judge. Saskia’s As for Dream, Canal, Divide These, Corridor, and All Souls are five poetry volumes. The Dolphin Letters, 1970-1979:
