BTS’ Suga Releases ‘D-Day’, His First Solo Album

Seoul, April 21 (IANS) K-pop superstar, and BTS member Suga on Friday launched his first official solo album ‘D-Day’ under the alias Agust D for his solo endeavor. The music video for the album’s main tune, “Haegeum,” was released at the same time as the album, according to Yonhap.

‘D-Day’ is Suga’s first solo effort in three years since ‘D-2’ in 2020, if his unofficial mixtapes are counted. The album completes the ‘Agust D trilogy, which was started with his mixtapes Agust D (2016) and ‘D-2’. There are ten tracks on the new album, including “Haegeum,” “Huh?! (Feat. J-Hope),” “Amygdala,” “SDL,” “Interlude: Dawn,” and “Snooze (Feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo-sung of The Rose).”

‘Life Goes On’ was also among the top 10, and according to BigHit Music, Suga reworked the band’s popular song of the same name to suit his tastes. The album’s message is to prioritize “me” and “now” in a time where there is an excessive amount of quick and detailed information.

To tell his authentic life narrative, Suga penned and created each song on the album, as well as oversaw its entire production. The ‘Haegeum’ music video has a complex plot and dramatic components that are emphasized in a setting that is generally reminiscent of a film noir. It should be noted that Suga plays two distinct yet related characters.

This coming Wednesday and Thursday (local time), Suga plans to embark on his first solo world tour, dubbed the “Suga | Agust D-Day Tour,” which will also take him to other cities in the United States as well as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. Suga is the fifth member of the Septet BTS to have a solo performance.
