The Chinese company Xiaomi has finally begun planning to launch notebooks in the Indian market. The Chinese company is, at present, discussing the sale model of Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 with online retailers and could be introducing the first notebook in India, most likely in the next month.
According to the latest reports, Xiaomi will introduce this new category of notebooks in India with the RedmiBook 14. In May last year, the laptop was made official long back in the homegrown market China, alongside the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. The 14-inch notebook, Xiaomi RedmiBook 14, had been recently noticed getting the BIS certification, indicating that it is all set to launch the product in the country.
Xiaomi rolled itself into the smartphone industry in India in the year 2014 and ever since has had a firm hold of that market with its latest smartphones having the best of features and that too at affordable prices. Taking a peek into Xiaomi’s establishment in the smartphone industry, after introducing the notebook to the market, it is clear that Xiaomi is all set up to disrupt the notebook market in the country.

Design
The Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 has a metal unibody design, and the overall texture of the notebook resembles the MacBook Air. Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 features suitable dimensions of 12.7 x 8.8 x 0.7 inches. It is not much heavy with a weight of 1.5kg. The company’s notebook has an all-metal body with a narrow frame design, making it smaller than a traditional notebook, which measures 14 inches. However, the body of this notebook is not waterproof.
Connectivity Options
For connectivity, Xiaomi’s RedmiBook 14 features an HDMI interface, 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, a power Interface, and an audio combo jack. It has a fantastic display with Xiaomi’s notebook flaunting a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels FHD IPS panel.
Screen Size
The panel has 178 degrees wide viewing angle and 250 nits of peak brightness. It is supposedly vibrant and has a high-definition anti-glare display. It has 141.21 pixels per inch. It does not support the touch screen function. The RedmiBook 14 features built-in speakers and also provides a full-size keyboard. The company’s notebook, RedmiBook 14, supports WI-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0 version.
Processor and RAM
Back in May 2019, in Xiaomi’s homegrown market China, the company launched its notebook, the RedmiBook 14, with up to 8th gen Intel Core i7 processor accompanied with Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics. In August 2019, another version of the notebook was launched, which ran on a new 10th generation Intel Core i7-8565U processor paired with the same NVIDIA MX250 graphics processor.
The company’s notebook has a fundamental 1.6 GHz core frequency up to a 4.2 GHz quad-core eight-thread processor. It offers a storage space of 256 GB. It is not provided with any slot for a memory card. It comes with 2 GB GDDR5 + 8 GB DDR4 random access memory. It comes with a pre-installed Windows 10 home edition operating system. It supports the insertion of one standard sim. It does not support dual sim functionality.
Battery
Xiaomi’s RedmiBook 14 also comes integrated with a proper cooling system and is backed by a 46 W battery with a 65 W power adapter. The 46 W battery supports a type-C fast charge and can deliver up to 10 hours of video playback. It is capable of a 35 minutes charge in a shutdown state.
Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 Expected Price
Xiaomi has to step in with some aggressive pricing as the brand is all set with plans to disrupt the Indian notebook market. Considering its launch price in homegrown market China, Xiaomi can introduce the notebook, RedmiBook 14, with a starting price of Rs. 38,000. The mid-tier variant is anticipated to cost Rs. 45,000, whereas the flagship variant could cost around Rs. 52,000.
