After the celebration, “employees informed us of an incident,” Arrington claimed. “A huge group of about 40 people gathered outside the building. An altercation broke out, and due to that disagreement, a shooting occurred.”
According to Arrington, the bulk of people ran away after the gunfire, which authorities say featured “at least” two assailants firing shots. After the incident, “people ran away and didn’t stay to provide a statement,” Arrington claimed. “All we can hope is that each of you would reach out and provide us with information to help us solve the death of Takeoff.”

Then, Mayor Turner expressed his sympathies to Takeoff’s family, who was born Khirshnik Khari Ball. I want to send my condolences to Takeoff’s mother and all his family members, Turner added. “Anyone who loses their life is a life lost, regardless of how renowned you are.”
Turner explained that he was concerned about the behaviour of the age group that Takeoff, 28, belonged to. “Ages 16 to 30 are the age range that worries me. Too many young black guys are killing other young black men, “Turner declared. “We do need to talk about that.”
The mayor said, “In my day, [if] there was a dispute, there was a fistfight. “Too many young men of colour have been hurt or died recently.” To assist local law enforcement in locating individuals who fired the rounds that murdered Takeoff, Turner, Finner, and Arrington emphasized the need for community tips and information.
