Mark Corbman Obituary: He Died at the Age of 57

in 2023, on April 28. Dear grandfather of Drew and Lexie Moncarz, Dear uncle of Paul Branca, Dear great uncle of Elyana F. Branca, Beloved husband of Flo A. Rutherford, Devoted father of Amy Corbman Moncarz (Roger Moncarz), Loving brother of Carol Branca (Joseph Curran & Saverio Branca), Dear grandfather of Drew and Lexie Moncarz.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 PM at GOLDSTEINS ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH CHAPEL in Southampton, Pennsylvania, 18966. All are welcome to a life celebration at Maggio’s Restaurant, 400 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966, following the services. Donations in his honor may be sent to the Grand View Hospital, the Ridge Crest Long Term Care Facility, or the Bucks County SPCA.

Mark cherished life and made the most of it. He adored the outdoors and the natural world. He enjoyed riding his Harley, skiing, in-line skating, visiting Park City, Utah, going on vacation, and going for walks with his wife and his cherished Golden Retrievers. His “indoor” interests included being a major movie geek and audiophile.

He belonged to the Philadelphia Area of Audiophile Group (PAAG). He was also a longtime participant in the Indian Valley Hog Harley Owners Group. Mark was an avid Philadelphia sports supporter when he was a child. His favorite teams were the 76ers and the Eagles. Talking about the 76ers during the Wilt Chamberlain era was one of his favorite topics. He was also a huge Star Wars and Harry Potter lover.

Mark graduated from Germantown High School and went on to the Temple University College of Education and School of Dentistry. Later, while working as a pediatric dental resident at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), he studied. Following the conclusion of his residency, Mark opened a dental office in Sellersville near Grandview Hospital.

He was a member of the Grandview Hospital’s Department of Surgery as well as an Attending and Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. For almost 50 years, Mark served as a pediatric dentist in the region. Being a fan of Star Wars, he frequently referred to himself as “Dr. Mark Corbman– Jedi Master of Pediatric Dentistry.”

Mark was widely known as the “Kid Whisperer” since he was knowledgeable about “kid-related” subjects. He had a number of multigenerational families as patients, and he served as a wonderful role model for them. Mark was a valuable member of the neighborhood dentistry community and was always eager to impart his knowledge.

Along with imparting his dental knowledge, he was always willing to entertain listeners with jokes and stories. Mark had a huge heart and cared about everyone, including friends and strangers. He treated everyone with dignity and generosity. Mark’s captivating demeanor and versatility as a speaker will undoubtedly stick in your mind. Every time he finished a sentence, he would say, “May the FLOSS Be With You!”
