David L. Ferrante, “Papa” of Somerville, died on August 20, 2021, at age 66. devoted father to Nicole Valente, her husband, Carlos, David Ferrante and his wife, Jill. She loved the papa of Tyler, Tessa, Tate Valente, Luke, and Thalia Ferrante—Daniel and Denis Ferrante’s beloved sibling.
Several more devoted family members and acquaintances are also still alive. On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 8:30 to 10:30 am, there will be visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home in Cambridge, located at 380 Cambridge Street. At 11:00 am, a funeral mass in St. Catherine’s Church in Somerville will be at 179 Summer Street.
David spent more than 20 years as a shop steward at MIT. He played softball on the MIT Facilities Team until he was 60, alongside his son “Hollywood” and son-in-law. He liked the outdoors and was frequently spotted trekking around Fresh Pond with his several devoted pets.

When he could, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren, especially when they had a sporting event he could attend and support.
