The NYPD has confirmed to PEOPLE that there have been no further developments in the case. On Thursday, A 22 Year Old Man Is Killed In A Shooting Near Times Square. Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police were called to the corner of 44th Street and 8th Avenue, which is a popular tourist destination.

A spokeswoman for the New York Police Department told PEOPLE that upon arrival, officers discovered a male who had been shot in the right side of his chest. He was unable to be resuscitated at the scene, therefore he was sent to Mount Sinai West, where he was formally declared dead. No suspects have been apprehended and the investigation by the NYPD into the incident continues.
