Texas CBs coach Jay Valai is now the newest member of former head coach Tom Herman’s team to say goodbye to his players on 12th January 2021 Monday. Till now he is the fourth member of Longhorns staff to do so.
Now the news is coming that Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is looking to hire Terry Joseph from the Fighting Irish to work as a coach. Moreover, the former Texas safety Blake Gideon is also anticipated to join the team with the same capacity, including teams coordinator.
Despite having limited experience as an on-field assistant, Jay Valai is a rising star in the coaching industry. Because he already possesses good connections in the Metroplex as he was a trainer during his playing career at Wisconsin.
Back in 2016 and 2017, Mr Valai was a defensive quality control coach at Georgia. He continued to offer his duties as defensive quality control coach and assistant defensive backs coach in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018.
Texas CBs coach Jay Valai Biggest Break
His biggest break of carrier came when Chris Ash hired him as the head coach at Rutgers. With the termination of Chris, Valai took the position of Texas defensive coordinator with the Longhorns.
The cornerbacks’ performance is much improved during the Valai’s only season on the Forty Acres. Therefore, we can say that Sarkisian needs more experienced members on his team.
