After his time with the Dolphins in 2011 and ’12, he played for the Lions in ’13 and ’14, the 49ers in ’15, and the Bills in ’16. Reggie joined Fox Sports in March 2019 as a studio commentator for college football.
Reggie Bush Wins $12.45 Million Lawsuit Against Rams
Reggie was traded to the Miami Dolphins in July 2011 and was twice honored as the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week. He inked a $16 million (with $4 million guaranteed) agreement with the Detroit Lions over four years in March 2013. In January 2015, the club reached the playoffs. However, they were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys, 24-20.
The Lions cut Bush in February 2015, and he quickly found a new team in San Francisco, where he signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract (including a $500,000 signing bonus). In the season’s first game, he hurt his leg; later that year, against the St. Louis Rams, he slid on concrete, crashed into a wall, and tore his left meniscus.
Later, Reggie sued the Rams, the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, and the St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority, saying that the “concrete ring of death” around the field was to blame for his season-ending injury.
A jury agreed with Bush in June 2018 and decided that the Rams owed him $12.45 million. In August 2016, Reggie signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, and on December 15, 2017, he announced his retirement from professional football.
