Ghostbusters had some of the funniest and scariest moments in pop culture history, making it the movie of the 1980s for many kids who grew up around that time. Despite being almost 40 years old, the Bill Murray movie still holds up thanks to its stellar cast, New York City locations, and highly sharp writing.
But sadness has befallen the beloved film since Kymberly Herrin, a 65-year-old cast member from the 1984 masterpiece, has reportedly passed away, according to a report by The New York Post.
Kymberly Herrin portrayed the Dream Ghost in the first Ghostbusters, where she is best known for sharing a bed with Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz. Herrin does not play a significant supporting role in the movie, but her appearance is noteworthy and is frequently spoken about by many fans of the series.

With parts in films like Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas, Beverly Hills Cop II with Eddie Murphy, and a term as Playmate of the Month in Playboy’s March 1981 issue, Herrin had careers as a model and actor outside of her work on Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters went on to launch a multimedia brand of films, television shows, video games, and merchandise with the aid of an ensemble cast that included Kymberly Herrin. Ghostbusters, a movie written and directed by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, is about a group of parapsychologists who form a company that captures ghosts for New York City citizens.

Ghostbusters presently has a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% Tomatometer score based on 77 critic reviews and an Audience Score of 88% from over 250,000 verified user ratings. A sequel to the 1984 hit movie Ghostbusters was created in 1989 and included the same cast.

It almost achieved the same level of popularity as the original, earning over $215 million at the box office against a $40 million budget. Since the 1980s, many more sequels have been produced, including the 2016 all-female version of Ghostbusters starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife, starring Paul Rudd and directed by Ivan Reitman’s son Jason, was added to the expanding franchise last year. It was the first sequel since Ghostbusters II to include members of the original ensemble Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver.
