Xavier López Rodrguez, also known as “Chabelo,” was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 17, 1935. He was a well-known Mexican-American actor, comedian, TV host, producer, and performer of children’s music. About 70 years were spent by the movie star working in Mexican television.
He appeared in more than 30 films, over 30 musical albums, and numerous television programs. One of the most recognizable figures in Mexican television, Chabelo, died at the age of 88. This past Saturday, March 25, he passed away unexpectedly after spending many years avoiding the media to spend time with his family.
What caused Chabelo’s death?
The well-known actor who was revered by many generations passed away as a result of stomach issues that his body was finally unable to handle. No other information on his passing or the location of Xavier’s funeral has yet been made public. The tragic news was shared by his relatives on Twitter.

Career of Chabelo
Chabelo, who was born in Chicago in 1935, started his artistic career in radio and theater at the age of 17. When he first entered the world of television in the 1960s, he rapidly became well-known thanks to his children’s show “El Club de Chabelo,” which aired on Mexican television for more than 48 years.
