Brooke Baldwin Divorce

On Thursday, divorce papers were submitted by Baldwin, then 43 years old, at Manhattan Supreme Court. After two years of dating and an engagement in 2017, the couple finally married the marriage at Liberty Farms in Ghent, New York in May of 2018. Despite having no other employment at the time, Baldwin quit CNN in April 2021 after working there for 13 years.

Baldwin noted in a 2021 podcast interview that she had to “push for women’s stories” because the outlet was controlled by men. It’s a fact that the men in our network make up the top tier of our news anchor staff in terms of both influence and salary. The men who hold executive positions in my company are my bosses. The man in charge of CNN Dayside is also the man who has been my executive producer for the past decade.

So I’ve had a lot of male company,” she reflected. When Baldwin finally decided to leave the show, it was in February 2021, a few months after she had been replaced by Jake Tapper, a political anchor, in the final month before the 2020 election. In April 2020, Baldwin publicly battled the coronavirus for many weeks.

She said in a CNN column that as her health deteriorated, Fletcher stopped avoiding her because it “became impossible” for him to do so. It was then that “he began to hug me in those darker moments and let me cry, whispering: “Everything’s going to be all right,” she recalled him writing. Fletcher did not immediately respond to a social media request for comment.
