Less than a year after the public witnessed them fall in love on “The Marriage Experiment,” the couple revealed they were splitting up. They had a rocky start to their relationship because Iyanna was Jarrette’s second pick for a marriage. Mallory Zapata was Jarrette’s first choice, but she accepted Salvador Perez’s offer.
Despite first feeling discouraged, Jarrette quickly had the courage to ask Iyanna out and was rewarded with a joyful “yes.” When Jarrette and Mallory first met on the group honeymoon trip for the newly formed couples, it was clear that sparks were flying. Iyanna and Salvador felt betrayed by their partners’ obvious feelings for each other.
Both parties continued their efforts to learn more about one another before making any final decisions about marriage. In the last episode of the season, Salvador decided against marrying Mallory since he recognized she wasn’t the one. Iyanna and Jarrette went on with the wedding plans and finally were married.
