Laura states to her ex-husband during their talk, “We’re co-parents and friends, and that’s how I want to keep it,” revealing that she has not been watching his stuff in part because she does not want to know his opinions on political topics.
Despite the fact that Stephen’s content is contentious due to its extreme right attitude and harsh opinions of the Biden family and of trans persons, Stephen claims in the interview that this was not the key cause for their breakup.
Throughout the film, they talk about moments when they might have been friends but weren’t, demonstrating how far apart they have become. What is evident, though, is that Stephen and Laura have each taken some time apart and come back to their partnership with a healthy amount of mutual respect.
