After being cast as Carrie Bradshaw, a witty sex writer who took New York by storm with her three similarly beautiful companions in the late ’90s, the Ohio native quickly ascended to stardom.
The actress (along with two of her primary co-stars) has decided to reprise their roles in the sequel And Just Like That, which follows Carrie and her pals as they deal with life in their fifties.
It has never been a huge stretch for Parker to portray Carrie, and that holds true for the plot of the sequel. Maybe that’s why fans have identified her so strongly with the role for so long.

Thankfully, the sequence when Mr. Big (Chris Noth) drops Carrie off at her house in his town car and then races off with her still standing on the street was included in his screenplay.

And when Parker became Carrie, the two identities merged into one. This is due to Parker’s incorporation of a few of her own traits into the role. Carrie’s fondness for sweets, such as cupcakes from Magnolia’s Bakery, is one example.
At the same time, Parker had her limits when it came to sharing the same lifestyle as her most well-known creation, saying things like, “an affair, husbands, kissing, buying, drinking—whims, whims, whims!”
