PEOPLE has confirmed that Emma Slater and Sasha Farber of Dancing With the Stars have divorced after four years of marriage. Several dances for the most recent season of So You Think You Can Dance were choreographed by Farber, 38, and Slater, 33.
They performed Bruno Mars’s “Just the Way You Are” and engaged in a live filming of the ABC show in October 2016. Before leading them to the ballroom centre, former host Tom Bergeron said to Farber, “Sasha, I always thought you had the capacity to host.”
The Slater said, “Babe, I wanted to do this for such a long, long time,” Farber took her hands. He dropped down on one knee in front of Slater and told her in front of everyone: “Forever and always, my love is with you. How about we get married?”

About Emma Slater
English-American dancer and choreographer Emma Slater was born on December 25, 1988. Her time on Dancing with the Stars is largely responsible for her fame. Growing up in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England, Emma Slater took part in various shows at the local stage schools. Kelly, her identical twin sister, is the show’s costume designer and stylist.
Slater began her studies of ballroom and Latin American dance when she was 10 years old. Many of her early competitive victories occurred in England. At the age of 15, she starred in a Bikini Films-made music video for George Michael‘s song “Round Here,” which was shot in London.
Later that year, in December, to be exact, Slater was once again at London’s Pinewood Studios for the filming of the exercise video Latinasize. From 2011 to 2014, she dated Sasha Farber, also of Dancing with the Stars. When Farber and Slater reconciled in December 2015, he announced it on Instagram.
Dancing with the Stars was the setting for Farber’s marriage proposal to Slater on October 4, 2016. Slater and Farber tied the knot on March 25, 2018, with Lindsay Arnold, Witney Carson, and Jenna Johnson serving as bridesmaids and Derek Hough as a groomsman. In December of the year 2020, she was granted naturalization as an American citizen.

DWTS’ Emma and Sasha’s Relationship Struggles
Rumours of a breakup between Emma Slater and Sasha Farber began circulating earlier this year when neither woman was actively engaging in their respective online communities. Emma and her parents went to Italy without Sasha studying abroad. Similarly, she went to the wedding of Brandon Armstrong by herself.
The couple’s fourth wedding anniversary also occurred in March, but it was ignored. Emma and Sasha’s efforts to maintain a healthy work-life balance were publicly discussed in November 2021. A professional dancer praised the couple, saying that their ability to keep business and personal life separate was exemplary.
The Emma and Sasha’s Relationship Timeline
In 2011, Emma Slater and Sasha Farber were first reported to have dated. Their breakup occurred in 2014. Finally, Emma suggested that perhaps they weren’t destined to reach the end together and that they should look elsewhere for the individuals who will bring them joy.
She insisted, nonetheless, that she and Sasha would remain inseparable friends. The couple’s separation was brief, and the two eventually reconciled. Sasha asked Emma to marry him in 2016, and the couple sealed the marriage in March 2018 in Los Angeles.
Their nuptials were attended by many of their other DWTS cast mates. Now that Emma and Sasha have called it quits on Dancing with the Stars, we can only hope that they find lasting love and success in their professional life.
Did Emma Slater and Sasha Farber Split?
The split was first reported by Us Weekly on August 24. Sasha and Emma have not yet given interviews to the press. Sources claim the couple has not officially filed for divorce, and it is yet unknown what led to their split.
The couple, according to a source close to the couple, just broke up. “They’ve been apart for many months now,” the reliable source claimed. In addition to not wearing their wedding bands, “they are each leading a separate life.”
Recent Instagram posts from Emma showcase her European holiday. As well as the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, her travels took her to Monte Carlo, Monaco, Antibes, France, and other locations. Sasha, meantime, has been spending her time lounging by the pool and at the beach.
Are Emma Slater and Sasha Farber Getting Divorced?
At the time of writing, neither Emma nor Sasha have formally announced their separation or begun the divorce process. In 2009, the two actors crossed paths while performing in Burn the Floor on Broadway and in London’s West End.
Two years later, in 2011, their friendship blossomed into romance when they started dating. After a brief breakup in 2014—during which they told fans they would remain “best friends”—they got back together the following year. They tied the knot in Los Angeles in the spring of 2018.
