On Friday night, Dua Lipa made her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival and a very public appearance with her long-rumored new boyfriend, Romain Gavras. Although it looks less significant, she also revealed some dramatic new bangs. Lipa has previously attended film festival-related events, but her participation at the Omar La Fraise premiere marked her first official trek along the fabled red carpet of the Croisette.
She accomplished this while wearing a Hedi Slimane for Celine black asymmetrical dress. The dress had high-leg slits and peek-a-boo cuts that cut across the bodice dramatically. The singer, 27, had long bangs resembling Lydia Deetz and covered half of her face. Regarding her date, Lipa has been linked to the 41-year-old Gavras for some months, and although they have occasionally been photographed together, they have kept a reasonably low profile before now.
It’s difficult to interpret this as anything other than a relationship-hard launch, given that they held hands and were pretty touchy. French-born director Gavras may be most recognized in the United States for directing the music video for M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls.” who is the one which does several auto stunts in the Moroccan desert.
