How Did Nick Sirianni Start His Coaching Career?
Nick Sirianni started his coaching career as the defensive backs coach at Mount Union High School. He was so effective there that, after just one season, he left to take a position coaching receivers at Indiana University. He held that position for three seasons.
The Kansas City Chiefs hired Sirianni to be their quality control coach, and his next destination was the NFL. As he rose through the team’s ranks, he was named wide receivers coach.
The reason the squad got go of Andy Reid when he joined was that the legendary coach brought his backroom staff with him. After leaving the Chiefs, Sirianni had a number of coaching roles with the San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts.
The roles of offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and offensive quality control coach were among them. The 42-year-old eventually received his first league job as head coach when the Philadelphia Eagles hired him after Doug Pederson was fired.
