In 2021, however, a mysterious report detailing his murder at the hands of other characters began making its way around the web.

Let’s calm your nerves before we go any farther. True, Mr. Krabs did pass away, and his demise was, as you’ll see, really gruesome. Actually killing off Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants never happened.
His death, such as it was, became widely known on the internet in 2021. True believers couldn’t think of an episode where he actually met his maker, but they were convinced it was true. They had every right to be perplexed.
The truth is that the death of Mr. Krabs was the subject of an 11-page document created as part of a classroom project designed to teach students how to write convincing trial arguments. The file contained all the evidence necessary to convict the person responsible for Mr. Krabs’ murder.
The fact that Nickelodeon had recently pulled an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants (Season 12, Episode 21) named “Kwarantined Crab” added credence to the news of Mr. Krabs’ death. Fans thought this was the episode in which he died, but the network claimed they had to cancel it due of the similarities to COVID-19.
Initially, the circulating paper was a brief two-page treatise with roots in Springfield, Illinois’s public school District 186.
Shortly after the 2-page document made its rounds, the much lengthier (11 pages) document found its way to the internet, revealing greater detail on what Mr. Krabs’ death was all about.

Yes, it is with great relief that we learn Mr. Krabs has not, in fact, met his end. The 11-page booklet paints a rather exciting picture of the project at hand. SpongeBob’s guilt or innocence in the gruesome death of Mr. Krabs would make for a fascinating school assignment.
