On May 10 at the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Calabasas, California, Susan Oliver, an actress who had participated in a wide variety of television programs, passed away from cancer. She resided in Hollywood and was 61 years old.
Charlotte Gercke (now Ms. Oliver) appeared in the Broadway productions “Small War on Murray Hill” and “Look Back in Anger.” In addition to “The Gene Krupa Story,” “Butterfield 8,” “Change of Mind,” and “The Disorderly Orderly,” she has starred in a number of other films.
In the prime-time television series ”Peyton Place,” starring in the 1960s, Ms. Oliver portrayed the role of Ann Howard. Both ”M*A*S*H” and ”Trapper John, M.D.” had episodes she directed.
Oliver was a pilot, and so was she. In 1967, she flew alone from New York to Copenhagen in a single-engine Aero Commander 200.
