Following the trendiest trend in AAA game distribution, Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on the official launch day for most gamers, but for a small additional fee, early access will be granted to those who pre-order the game. After an early access phase, NetherRealm’s fighter will join the ranks of Starfield and Diablo 4.
The only way to acquire early access is to buy one of the game’s premium editions. If not, you’ll have to hold out until September 19th. Here are the release dates and early access dates for Mortal Kombat 1 in your region.
Mortal Kombat 1 Release Time
Mortal Kombat 1 is releasing on Tuesday, September 19 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S in its base form. Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 14 for everyone else, but those who purchase the premium or collector’s (ahem, Kollector’s) edition will have access five days early.
Start timings for early access to Mortal Kombat 1 are as follows:
- 10 a.m. PDT on Sept. 14 for the West Coast of North America

- 1 p.m. EDT on Sept. 14 for the East Coast of North America
- 6 p.m. BST on Sept. 14 for the United Kingdom
- 7 p.m. CEST on Sept. 14 for west mainland Europe
- 9 a.m. JST on Sept. 15 for Japan
The official release date is September 19, however, NetherRealm has not confirmed the launch times yet. If you’re going to pre-order, you might as well start loading up as soon as possible. This is a massive game: Mortal Kombat 1 weighs in at 140 GB for Xbox.
