As of 2015, Lane Monte Kiffin (born May 9, 1975) is leading the Ole Miss Rebels as their head football coach. Kiffin has held the positions of offensive coordinator for the USC Trojans football team in 2005 and 2006, head coach for the NFL’s Oakland Raiders in 2007 and 2008, head coach for the University of Tennessee Volunteers college football team in 2009, and head coach for the USC Trojans from 2010 to 2013.
When he was hired by the Raiders, he became the youngest head coach in modern NFL history (until 2017 when Sean McVay was hired by the Rams). He also held the record for the youngest head coach of a college football team from a BCS conference.
From 2014 to 2016, Kiffin served as the University of Alabama’s offensive coordinator. In 2016, he was appointed as the head coach at Florida Atlantic, where he remained until his recent promotion to the same job at Ole Miss in December 2019.

Lane Kiffin Career
In 1999, while still a graduate assistant at Colorado State, Lane Kiffin was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a quality control assistant in the NFL. Following that, Pete Carroll brought him on as the tight ends coach at USC. He coached wide receivers at USC from 2002–2004 and then served as offensive coordinator in 2005–06.
Kiffin became the youngest head coach in Oakland Raiders’ history in 2007 when he was hired for his first head coaching job with the team. However, internal tensions began to rise after a 4-12 season, and the Raiders ultimately fired Lane Kiffin as head coach. His record of 5-15 in the NFL was not good enough to keep his job for very long.
Kiffin is now the youngest active head coach in Division I FBS after being hired by Tennessee in 2009. After Pete Carroll departed USC in 2010 to become head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, he took over as head coach of the Trojans. Kiffin joined Alabama in 2014 as Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
