Casting for House of the Dragon will begin in July 2020, while production on the series proper will kick off in April 2021 in the United Kingdom, per an October 2019 straight-to-series order. All the information we have about House of the Dragon is listed here.

House Of Dragon Plot

The history of House Targaryen will be depicted in House of the Dragon, which will be based on George R. R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood. Two hundred years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” in the story “Dance of the Dragons,” we learn of the conflict between Aegon II and Rhaenyra, Viserys I’s son and daughter, over who will succeed in the kingdom.

The novella “Fire & Blood” can be found in the larger “A Song of Fire and Ice” series. Martin has just stated that November 2023 will see the publication of the latest novel in the series, Winds of Winter. We see the kingdom ripped apart once more when prominent families choose sides in this war, marking a pivotal moment in Westeros’s history.

Many well-known families, like the Starks and the Lannisters, will undoubtedly make an appearance in the House of the Dragon. Daenerys’s hatching of the final three dragon eggs in Game of Thrones dispelled rumors that the House Targaryen had lost its dragons during the fight.

A number of well-known English actors are included in House of the Dragon. King Viserys Targaryen, played by Paddy Considine, is joined by his heir, Prince Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith. The firstborn daughter of the king, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, will be portrayed by Emma D’Arcy.

Additionally, Steve Toussaint will make an appearance as Lord Corlys “The Sea Snake” Velaryon, Olivia Cooke will play Alicent Hightower, and Rhys Ifans will play Otto Hightower, the king’s hand. Other famous faces that will be introduced to the cast include

House Of Dragon Release Date

It was reported earlier this week that the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, would air on Disney+ Hotstar at the same time as in the United States, and that date is rapidly approaching. The platform will begin streaming new episodes on Monday, August 22 at 6:30 am IST, simultaneously with the HBO Max release.

Set centuries before the events of A Song of Fire and Ice, the 10-part series is based on George RR Martin’s novel Fire and Blood. New episodes of House of the Dragon premiere every Monday, and Season 1 will wrap up on October 24 with Episode 10.

The key difference is that the Game of Thrones spin-off will be accessible in sync with the US release date, but the schedule is otherwise the same for most HBO titles on Disney+ Hotstar.  House of the Dragon will be accessible on Disney+ Hotstar immediately upon its completion airing on HBO.
