The method behind Katharine McPhee’s union with David Foster is now being made public. The “Country Comfort” actress spoke with Fox News about how “very simple” it is for her and her husband of three years to keep “connected” to one another.
The actress, 38, admitted that she and Foster, 73, don’t go on “extravagant” vacations, preferring to take a more straightforward path. We adore being able to watch movies and eat meals together, said McPhee. “We just want to reconnect. I love to simply sit and have dinner with him.
I’ll have a glass of wine – he doesn’t drink. And we just talk. That’s our time together that we always make sure to have,” she said. We have a really busy schedule, so making that time every day is incredibly essential to us. There’s always something to chat about, whether it’s our family or our son – it’s our time.
After being engaged for almost a year, the couple exchanged vows in June 2019. In February 2021, they also welcomed their son Rennie. In addition to their low-key date night customs, McPhee said that their relationship at work keeps them close and at ease.
We were coworkers long before we were romantically involved with one another, she said. That was first before anything. That’s where we’re the most comfortable together. It doesn’t cause any friction between us at all. There’s no kind of unknown between us. That’s where it all started for us.
So I’m very accustomed to being on stage with him, sharing a stage with him, and being in the recording studio with him. The couple’s first joint album, “Christmas Songs,” which will be released on November 25, was made possible by their strong working relationship.
Katharine also spoke to the media about how exciting it was to see the 16-time Grammy Award winner’s musical skills in action. She said, “I’m always in awe of his capacity to have a concept in [his] head and manifest it into something.”
Being his wife and a fan before we were married, I have a great deal of respect for David, and working with him is the best because he knows exactly what he needs from you. It’s also been a lot of fun. We had the summer together and thought about just releasing a few songs on social platforms, but the idea turned into so much more.
