Former General Hospital actor Tyler Christopher has passed away at the age of 50. Co-star Maurice Benard took to social media to report the passing of the award-winning actor. Tyler Christopher Cause of Death
His friend and former “GH” co-star Maurice Benard broke the news on Instagram, and the soap’s executive producer later confirmed it.
Benard said, “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher. Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.”
Frank Valentini, executive producer of the daytime drama, claims that the “GH” family adored Tyler.
“I am heartbroken over the news of Tyler Christopher’s passing,” Valentini wrote on X. “He was kind, an incredible actor and a dear friend, who was beloved by our #GH family and fans of Nikolas Cassadine.”
“On behalf of everyone at General Hospital, our heartfelt sympathies go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
Christopher had several guest-starring roles on shows including “CSI,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “Charmed,” but “GH” was where he was most well-known for his work.

He portrayed Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives from 2018 to 2019 and was a multiple-time Daytime Emmy candidate and winner for his efforts. In his private life, he was wed to Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004.
