One way to start the trailer for Fox’s new reality competition Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which will have a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, January 4 at 8/7c, is to have someone remark, “If you should die…”
In the new show, an elite group of former operatives known as the Directing Staff (DS) agents, Rudy Reyes, Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Remi Adeleke, will lead 16 celebrities as they “try to survive” a series of difficult training exercises that place them in “the harshest of environments” and “simulate the highly classified selection process” for the Special Forces.

The “recruits” can only depart if they decide to quit of their own volition (“Damn you, Sid! Nobody goes on life support after 11 weeks! “), either due to failure, a risk of damage, or “by force” from the DS. Actress/singer Jamie Lynn Spears, former Spice Girl Mel B, former Bachelorette Hannah Brown, Beverley Mitchell from 7th Heaven, and blink-and-you-missed-him are among the cast members.
Mother of eight and White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci Kate Gosselin, former NFL player Danny Amendola, TV chef Tyler Florence, former NBA player Dwight Howard, R&B performer Montell Jordan, Olympic gold medalist/great soccer player Carli Lloyd, Olympic gold medalist/Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin, Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore, and Dr Drew Pinsky.
Fox reality chief Rob Wade previously said in a statement that Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test “puts celebrities you know and love through the purest and authentic test of endurance that I have ever seen.”
“In many ways, mental toughness is more important than physical toughness. It’s an eye-opening look into the most rigorous training in the world and provides a taste of the tenacity and bravery displayed by our armed services on a daily basis; for these celebrities, it was a life-changing event.
