Fans have been going crazy for the Resident Alien season 3 ever since the release of Season 2 Part 2 on August 10, 2022 (today), now it’s time to find out if the show will be renewed or canceled.
Based on the Dark Horse comics of the same name, Resident Alien follows Alan Tudyk as an alien who secretly plans to wipe out humanity after crashing on Earth.
According to the second season’s official synopsis, “Harry is once again stranded on Earth where he must confront the consequences of having failed his people’s goal to destroy the human species.”

Resident Alien Season 3 Plot
Part 2 of Season 2 will resume airing on August 10 at 10/9c, picking up just after Asta’s (Sara Tomko) sudden intervention to save Harry’s life. While searching for the alien child, they are forced to confront the emotional fallout from the previous night, leading to some profound insights for everybody involved.
D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) “fights the battle of a lifetime” while Ben (Levi Fiehler) and Kate (Meredith Garrettson) try to sell Patience at a new resort, Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) investigate a major crime, and others go about their business.
Terry O’Quinn’s The Alien Tracker makes a cameo appearance in the Season 2B teaser, presumably to check up on Liv. The deputy is counting on the Tracker to assist her to convince the locals of the reality of extraterrestrial craft.

Resident Alien Season 3 Release Date
Syfy renewed Resident Alien only hours ago on July 22, 2022, but the network has yet to announce a specific premiere date for Season 3. The good news is that season 3 will have the same number of episodes as seasons 1 and 2, which is 12, and production is expected to resume on time.
Since the network made the renewal announcement on schedule, it appears that the fans may rest easy knowing that the next season will be published sooner than expected.

To put a date on it, we’d say sometime in the first half of 2023. If the pattern from the previous season is any indication, the premiere of the new season will take place in January 2023.
In addition, we’d like to stress that at this point, everything is conjecture. Thus, fans should keep a watch on the Syfy network’s website and social media accounts in the coming months for the official release dates to be published and confirmed.
Without knowing how the second season will conclude, we are unable to make any definite predictions about its plot. It is expected that the new season would take up any lingering threads from the previous one and dive right into this setting, giving viewers a refreshing change of pace from the regular fare.
Many of the episodes have received great reviews from fans, which has attracted others to watch the series when it airs on television or through a streaming service. How they adapt to the pressure will be fascinating and likely bring something new to the series.
