Derek Hough is a professional dancer from the United States who focuses on Latin and ballroom styles. He has also directed dances, played the piano, sang, and written songs.
When he was little, his mother took him to the art museum. He began dancing at an early age and trained under Corky and Shirley Ballas. Derek Hough is widely recognized as a result of his participation in the ABC reality dance competition ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough have tied the knot.
On August 26, 2023, the happy couple exchanged vows in Monterey County, California.
“We got married right in front of this mother tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees,” Erbert recalled of the location they picked. They release all their seeds at once, and the resulting vegetation acts as if it were a guard force for the mother plant. The meaning behind it was lovely. We’re starting a family right now, sowing the seeds right now.
Hough proposed to Erbert in June of 2022, and he shared the news on Instagram.
“It’s only the beginning…the beginning of forever ♥️,” he wrote alongside a photo of the couple embracing.
This couple met on Dancing with the Stars in 2015 and have been together ever since. Since making their Instagram debut in 2017, the couple has been sharing adorable updates about their love with their followers.
When Did They Meet?
For those who may have missed it, Derek, now 37, spent many years as a professional dancer on DWTS before assuming a seat on the judging panel. There, he met Hayley, one of the show’s dancers. Both performed “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran on DWTS Live in 2015 and gave a special performance for season 29.
