FTX Twitch Death: The long-running and adored dancing DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who was also a past participant on “So You Think You Can Dance,” passed away at the age of 40.
In a statement to People magazine, his wife, Allison Holker Boss, said, “I have to announce my husband Stephen has left us. It is with the heaviest of emotions.” “Stephen brought light into every space he entered. Above all else, he treasured his family, friends, and community.
He believed that the best way to lead was to lead with love and light. He was our family’s rock, the best husband and father, and an example to his followers. Suicide was listed as Boss’ cause of death by the Los Angeles coroner.

Twitch began working for “The Ellen Show” in 2014, and in 2020 he was given the title of co-executive producer. “I’m devastated. tWitch was only pure light and love. I had nothing but love to give him because he was my family.
He will be missed. Please send Allison and his lovely children Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia your love and support, Ellen DeGeneres wrote on Twitter with a picture of the two sharing a hug backstage.
The dancer-DJ also made appearances in movies including “Step Up: All In” and “Magic Mike XXL” and was a featured dancer in this year’s Disney+ production, “The Hip Hop Nutcracker.” He also finished as a runner-up on “So You Think You Can Dance” and later served as a judge for season 17.
The native of Alabama pursued dance performance studies at Chapman University and Southern Union State Community College because he admired great dancers like Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, his love of dancing permeated every part of his life.
The world lost a bright light today. Twitch brought joy and love to people all over the world through music and through dance. My heart is heavy today for his family and all of those who knew and loved him. pic.twitter.com/VmvxFgOF5d

“In my opinion, Gene Kelly was the greatest performer. Gene Kelly, since he is a gentleman. I adore Fred Astaire, but he was wonderful because he was so graceful. He was quite refined,” Boss remarked in an AP interview from 2014.
However, Gene Kelly might be like someone’s father who decided to get up off the couch, dance around, and clean the kitchen. Boss uploaded dance videos to TikTok with his wife, a talented dancer herself, and their children as extras.
Celebrities like Kerry Washington, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Questlove shared condolences on social media. I’m speechless, man. May this difficult time provide comfort to his family. May we all have tranquility in our daily lives? You never know who is on the edge because every day is a winding path, Questlove wrote on Instagram.

“He was one of a kind. A good man, a husband, a creative person, a dancer, a performer, a shining example… He was exceptional. He could do anything, and he did it with grace, joy, and a little swagger.
Twitch, I’m lost… I feel my heart is frozen, and I don’t want to breathe out because I’m hoping that someone will catch this terrible error if I don’t. And everything will be alright once more,” “Dancing with the Stars,” judge Inaba wrote on Instagram.
