Finally, a long-awaited oral biography of BTS is available. Like many announcements regarding the wildly successful K-pop group, this one was the result of intense fan speculation for days. The book “Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS,” which went up for pre-order on Amazon this week, was initially listed to the retailer without a title, author, or synopsis.
However, rumors started to circulate when fans observed that its initial scheduled release date was the same as a nonfiction book about a celebrity that Flatiron Books announced earlier this year. Even without a title, speculations that the mystery book was about Taylor Swift—rumors that were subsequently debunked—pushed it to the top of bestseller lists even without a label.
On Thursday afternoon, Flatiron made a formal announcement about “Beyond the Story,” a book that would describe the K-pop band’s meteoric rise and was authored by journalist Myeongseok Kang and group members. Big Hit Music is going to publish it in South Korea. The English version of Flatiron, edited by Anton Hur, will be 544 pages long and include unique images.
