Andy Taylor, the founding guitarist for Duran Duran, revealed he has stage four cancer and could not attend his band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday. Simon Le Bon, the lead singer of Duran Duran, announced the news by reading passages from a 61-year-old Taylor’s open letter from the stage podium.
The announcement caused the Microsoft Theater audience to gasp audibly. Le Bon’s portion of the letter stated, “Just over four years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer.” “Naturally, we are no different from the numerous families who have already felt the slow effects of this illness.

I had to admit that I would be straining my limits on both a physical and mental level.
