British Radio Host Dies On Air: British Radio Host Dies On Air According to his radio station, a veteran British radio personality passed away on Monday while broadcasting his daily part due to what is believed to have been a heart attack. According to a news release from GenX Radio, Tim Gough, 55, passed away early on Monday while his program “Tim Gough at Breakfast” was broadcast live.
Gough was hosting the program from his Suffolk, England, home, the county where he was born. GenX Radio characterized their colleague as “a vastly experienced and highly gifted broadcaster with an army of admirers for his daily show,” adding that the staff is “shocked and devastated beyond words” over his passing.
Radio host Gough was commended by GenX Radio Suffolk’s managing director James Hazell, who has known him his entire career. Tim has worked in radio since the 1980s and has come out of radio retirement to completely support our initiative from the start, bringing local commercial radio back to his home county of Suffolk.

According to a profile on the GenX website, Gough began his radio career more than three decades ago. In addition to appearing on the national Smooth Radio station, he worked at several regional stations in the UK, including Radio Orwell, Saxon Radio, and SGR-FM. Gough has come out of retirement to anchor GenX Radio Suffolk’s early breakfast program.
