Tokyo Ghoul Season 5

Tokyo Ghoul Season 5

Tokyo Ghoul is one of the many renowned anime series based on the manga written by Sui Ishida. The show has 4 successful running seasons but it has been quite a long time since the 4th installment’s release. So fans are now very eager to find out about the fate of Tokyo Ghoul. Will the manga get a 5th season? If so then what will happen in Tokyo Ghoul Season 5?

The finale of the 4th season ended on a conclusive note; the story of the main character was completed. So it is advisable to not keep any hopes for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5. But again when a popular show ends, the showrunners renew the series in the form of spinoffs or some special episodes. So are there any chances of getting more Tokyo Ghoul content? Yes, we have analyzed everything of this sort in the article below.

The dark fantasy series revolves around a college student, Ken Kaneki, who gets attacked by a ghoul (Rize Kamishiro). And as a consequence, he gets an organ transplant from the being which transforms him into a monster. The later seasons center on the protagonist’s adventures. If you like consuming dark manga content then Tokyo Ghoul should be on your watchlist!

The drought of Tokyo Ghoul news has lasted for 3 years now and we haven’t received any good news for the series since a very long time. But there can be several reasons behind this. What are they? Continue reading the article to find out!

Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 Release Date

Ken’s story ended in the 4th season, the mysterious adventures of the past 3 seasons got a proper ending. So, it is unlikely for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 to come out unless Sui Ishida comes up with a new plot twist. Moreover, fans were not content with the way the 4th season ended because it felt like the producers had rushed the story. So this just gives us more and more reasons to not lose hope for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5.

If the 5th season sees the greenlight then don’t expect it to come out any time soon. Why? Because the ongoing pandemic has caused a lot of problems for studios to work efficiently. And as the show is an anime it will become even harder to animate the 5th season properly. Considering all of this the 5th season won’t come out before 2023 or even 2024.

Cast

The manga series was incredibly famous and one of the reasons behind its popularity is the talented voice actors. And if the 5th season is to come then it will be safe to assume that most of the main voice-cast will return for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5. However, we can’t say anything promising because the casting for a new season depends solely on two factors; the contracts of the actors and the storyline of the following season. And as we have zero leads on both factors, it is very hard to predict the cast for Tokyo Ghoul Season 5.

But if our assumptions prove to be true and the cast reunites for the 5th installment then expect the following characters and the actors dubbing them:

As there is no confirmed news about the characters of the 5th season this is all that we can say about the main cast. But what about the supporting characters? Will they feature in the Tokyo Ghoul Season 5?

If the story will continue in the same direction then yes you can expect to see familiar characters in the 5th installment too. But if the plot for the 5th season takes a time jump or if it focuses on some other issue then the supporting characters won’t get much screentime.

Plot

As mentioned earlier the series got a proper ending in the 4th season. Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima went on with their lives in completely different directions. The ghouls and humans also got their separate worlds hence peace was attained. As the series did not end on a cliffhanger we can’t predict the storyline for the 5th season. Moreover, we don’t need to worry about it either because the last couple of seasons did not do fairly well in terms of ratings so there are very less chances of Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 happening.

The creator of the series Sui Ishida is also busy in writing another manga so this cancels out all the possibilities for the 5th season.

Tokyo Ghoul Season 5 Trailer
