Riley Keough Recounts Near Mishap with Andrew Garfield Due to Severe Nut Allergy

Riley Keough has shared a nerve-wracking incident from the set of the 2018 film ‘Under the Silver Lake,’ where she co-starred alongside Andrew Garfield. The actress revealed how a seemingly harmless snack almost led to a serious mishap when she inadvertently came close to endangering Garfield’s life due to his severe nut allergy.

During the production of the mystery-thriller, Keough was taking a break and enjoying a granola bar before a kissing scene with Garfield. Unbeknownst to her, Garfield had a significant nut allergy.

In a recent video for Vanity Fair, Keough recalled the incident, saying, “I was in the makeup trailer and I was eating, like, a granola bar or something, and I was about to shoot a scene where I have to kiss Andrew. The makeup lady was like, ‘Are there peanuts in that?’ And I was like, ‘I think. I don’t know.'”

Do you know that a 15-year-old student ded on his first day of school in Frisco, Texas? A catastrophic accident occurred while Landon Bourque, a sophomore at Frisco Heritage High School, was crossing Independence Parkway at George Washington Drive. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. near Roach Middle School:

“And then she like, ran away,” Keough continued, describing how the makeup artist returned with the film’s producer who informed her about Garfield’s severe allergy. “The producer came in and was like, ‘Riley, Andrew’s very allergic to peanuts and we have to shut the set down, They shouldn’t have been at craft [services, the on-set catering], and I don’t know why they’re on set,'” Keough recounted.

Reflecting on the incident, the 34-year-old actress shared, “I was kind of like, ‘Oh, f–k, that’s crazy. But also, like, thank God that this woman caught it, ‘cause I had no idea.”

It turns out that the actor, known for his role in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man,’ is so allergic to nuts that he’s even learned to communicate his sensitivity in both English and Spanish. A friend from Chile taught him how to convey his nut allergy and the severity of the consequences in Spanish. Garfield can express in Spanish that he is allergic to “all kinds of nuts,” and exposure could potentially result in his “muerte,” or deth.

Keough admitted that the incident was “actually very stressful,” considering the potential outcome. However, she praised the overall experience of working on the film, labeling it as “a very cool movie” to be a part of—excluding the near-deth situation involving Garfield, of course.
