Pro Wrestling Commentator Don West Dies at Age 59 and the Cause of His Death Has Been Found: Don West, a legendary color commentator in professional wrestling, passed away on March 22 at the age of 59. Pro Wrestling Announcer Don West Passes Away at Age 59

On December 30th, Mike Tenay, a friend, and fellow pro wrestling commentator broke the tragic news that West had passed away after hearing it from Terri, West’s wife. According to his wife Terri, “our brother @DonWestDeals will be spending New Year’s in heaven,” which he announced via Twitter: Terri reported, “D-bout Dub’s with lymphoma was a knockout and he had to accept defeat.”

After 8 weeks of chemotherapy and 13 rounds of radiation treatment, he declared cancer to be in remission in September of the same year. However, just three months later, he experienced a relapse and was diagnosed with a second bout of the disease.

Starting in 2022, West served as TNA’s color commentator.

Former Shop at Home Network host and pitchman West has sold over $1 billion in merchandise during his time there. His popularity resulted in multiple spoofs of his routine on Saturday Night Live. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter hired him as a color commentator in 2002.
