Prince Harry's Memoir Will Be Released In January

Reuters, LONDON, October 27 – The memoir by British Prince Harry, titled “Spare,” will be released on January 10 and will detail his path from “pain to healing” with “raw unflinching honesty,” publisher Penguin Random House announced on Thursday.

The book will be “full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom on the enduring power of love over loss,” according to the publisher. It was previously scheduled to be released later this year.

The title alludes to Harry’s status as Prince William’s younger sibling and the heir apparent to the British monarchy since their father Charles’ coronation last month following the passing of Queen Elizabeth. Harry was following his brother in the line of succession until William and his wife Kate had their three children, hence the expression “the spare to the heir.”

The phrases “Prince Harry” and “Spare” are printed on the cover beside a picture of Harry gazing directly into the lens. Early in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan—officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex—resigned from their positions as royals and relocated to the United States.

When Meghan said that an unknown member of the royal family had voiced reservations about how dark their son’s skin would be and claimed that her life as a royal had left her on the verge of suicide in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple shocked the British monarchy.

Harry has also talked of following a “different route” than his brother, despite the fact that he and his wife joined William and Kate in an appearance following the passing of Queen Elizabeth last month.

The book will be accessible in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, and Canada in addition to 15 other languages, including Spanish, French, and Chinese. According to the publisher, it will cost 28 pounds ($32.43) in Britain. Additionally, an author-narrated audiobook version will be made available.

According to the publisher, Harry will donate a portion of his earnings to British organizations. (1 dollar = 0.8633 pounds)
