Picard Season 3: Plot

During an interview with EW after the conclusion of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Patrick Stewart provided a sneak peek into how the cast will return for the third season:

We are going to see them again, but this time it won’t be like old times. This is not merely a gathering of people. Everyone serves a purpose, and that’s pretty much all I’m allowed to say about it at this point because I’m really excited for season 3 to start. And of course, a significant portion of it will focus on the development of characters that we have been familiar with for a long time.

Fewer specific plot details have been revealed as of yet; however, Stewart has dropped hints that the third season might be the most fascinating of them all:

When I was done reading the conclusion of Season 2, one of the first thoughts that came to my mind was, “Where the hell are we going from here?” because it seemed as though there would be a solution.

“For a fleeting instant, I was concerned, thinking, ‘Oh no, are we going to finish the show early, and it will be canceled?’ We, however, did not. The third season featured several of the most exciting episodes and moments throughout the entirety of the series.

However, what about the remaining portions of the future? After the conclusion of the third season, will Patrick Stewart reprise his role as Jean-Luc? When asked the same question by Variety, the famous actor gave the following response:

“It appeared that Mr. Picard had reached the end of his statement, and he turned his back on his colleagues.

“I believe that the manner in which we wrap up Season 3 is excellent. Perfect. The very thought of it brings tears to my eyes, but it’s incredible all the same.
