Fans were in awe of Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman on Saturday when she made a charitable donation and went to see Hugh Jackman in The Music Man on Broadway.

The show’s autographed hat that Hugh wears in it was up for auction, and Nicole shocked bystanders by bidding an astounding $100,000 for it. All of the money raised went to Broadway Cares. Audience members watched in astonishment as the endearing actress eventually entered The Winter Garden Theatre’s center aisle before making her way to the stage and hugged her longtime pal to thunderous ovation.

“Nicole, you are exceptional! Your kindness is simply astounding. Hugh thanked his Australia co-star in the post by writing, “Thank you, my friend. The generosity and love flowing from Nicole leaves me dumbfounded, Hugh said in a caption below a photo of the couple during the musical.

I appreciate your friendship and support, Nic,” he continued. Nicole can be heard making the astounding offer off-camera in video Hugh released on Instagram. 

It follows the news that Nicole will be honored with a Life Achievement Award by the American Film Institute in 2019. The reward will be given to Nicole as the first Australian. Hollywood giants like Jane Fonda, George Clooney, Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, and Meryl Streep have previously received the award.
