A strong will and adaptable behavior are necessary for survival in Alaska’s severe winter climate. Atz Kilcher is a well-known Alaskan entertainer who was born and raised in the state.

The American reality show Alaska: The Last Frontier is where you could have seen him. However, tell me more about this Alaskan indigenous person. Where did he grow up and what’s wrong with him now? Are they married? Has he started a family yet?

Many Health Difficulties Plagued Atz Kilcher

In Season 10’s “Tsunami Evacuation,” viewers discover that Atz’s “several health scares” have slowed down the construction of his cottage. After initial concerns that he had COVID-19, an emergency hernia repair, and continued abdominal pain following an endoscopy, more diagnostics are warranted.

“My appointment today is a CT scan,” Atz explains in the episode. “So far, I’ve had a probe go down my stomach [and] take some kind of photographs, but just of the stomach. Now they’re going to see what else is going on in my beautiful, manly body cavity. Won’t know the answer until Thursday, when I go back in and have a consult, and [then] I’ll know more.”

Atz gives himself a pep talk before heading to the clinic for the scan. As he tries to convince himself, “I can do it,” he says to himself. “I can do it. Be strong. Be strong.”

When asked about his own thought process, he answers, “Of course, any human being right away says, ‘It’s a mass. It’s cancer.’ But there are some realities to getting older and physical is one, all the feelings. You realize you’re just more vulnerable. But that’s also a human condition, dealing with unknowns, and believing that whatever happens, we’ll make it through it.”

The father of pop sensation Jewel, the reality star, has come to terms with the fact that he may be nearing the end of his own life.

“Of course, none of us like to face death,” he says. “None of us knows for sure when it’s coming, but people who have terminal illnesses of course do know. Then their challenge is, they know they only have so much time left on this earth. Then they have a choice about how to spend that time: miserable and mad and angry or [as] happy as possible.”

Atz Kilchers CT Scan, Atz Waited Anxiously

Atz returns from the doctor’s office later in the episode, and the cameras from Alaska: The Last Frontier are rolling. “Well, they filled me full of dye, and they said, ‘This might make you feel hot and flushed,’” he reveals. “So I went into this tube — not an MRI, but a similar thing — and then they squirt this dye into your vein. They take this one [scan], and that was it.”

He goes on: “And so, now, in a couple days, when the information’s back, I go see the good doctor, and he will show all the images and tell me what they found. So, take it one day at a time.”

How Many Times Did Atz Kilchers Married?

A common question among viewers of Atz Kilcher’s reality program is: “How many wives has Atz Kilcher had?” Most are also curious in how Alaskan women deal with the isolation of winter and raise their children.

Many of Atz’s marriages have ended in divorce. He’s gotten hitched three times already. Lenedra Caroll is his first wife, and they have three children together. They split up in the early ’80s. His first wife was named Linda, and his second was named Bonnie Dupree.

The TV celebrity underwent an endoscopy and CT scan to figure out what was wrong with his digestive system. Many are wondering whether this means Atz Kilcher is ill with cancer.
